Early this week we filmed for our
preliminary exam, we filmed a short scene about a musician getting a record
deal, which we have begun editing. Our scene starts of the with the young
musician first looking nervous, this was to try and get the audience to feel
sympathy, this was done with a close up of the musician’s face. We then use
match on action of the musician walking into a room, this was done to show
continuity through out the clip. We showed this with 2 long shots of the
musician walking to the door and then from the other side of the door watching
the musician walk into the room. We then have several over the shoulder shots,
following a conversation, which will have to be edited. This is so that the
audience does not get confused with the lines being spoken by the two
characters. All shots used and editing techniques that will be used are to try
and make the scene look professional. All the camera angles used so far are:
Ø Over the shoulder shots
Ø Extreme long shot
Ø Close up
Ø Point of View shots
Editing techniques we will use are:
Ø Transitions
Ø Change of pace between shots
Ø Music being played over the top
Ø Some fading of the music
Ø And maybe fading at the end of the scene
