The equipment we used
·
Camera – Coolpix L810
·
Editing software – Adobe Premiere
Skills
We used a number of skills such as match on action and shot
reverse shot. We also kept the 180 line rule in mind whilst filming.
Positives and Negatives
Some of the weakness of the preliminary work is that the
song doesn’t fade out, and it would be better if it did. Some of the framings
cut the top of one of the characters head off. This could’ve been checked, and
fixed during filming. Action during one of the shots is slow which could’ve
been sped up or cut.
However some of the positives are that the continuity works
well, and that the transitions between shots are smooth. Shots are long enough
for the audience to understand what is going on.
Sound
I think that the song we chose to play over the top was a
good choice, but could’ve been faded better.
Editing
Some of the shots are could have been cut shorter to tidy up
the finished video. Most of the transitions are smooth, and work well. The end
should have been faded out to make it look better.
Cinematography
All the angles work well for what is going on during the
shots, for example the over the shoulder shots used during the conversation,
especially since they were used with the shot reverse shot technique and
following the 180 line rule. These help keeping the audience informed with what
is going on during the clip.
Mise en scene
The instruments in the background of the interview room work
well with what was being said by the characters because the characters are discussing
a record deal. The characters costumes worked well to because the producer was
in a suit looking smart and powerful and the musician was dressed smart like
for an interview.
